The Program Committee for the upcoming Fall 2026 Coalition for Physician Enhancement meeting is issuing a call for abstracts or proposals for the Research & Ideas Forum (RIF)

The purpose of the forum is to discuss ideas and research which seek to inform physician assessment and individualized education.
We welcome ongoing projects, new activities, and fresh ideas.

Student projects welcome and encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity to obtain constructive feedback and formative guidance on your new projects and program activities.

All submissions will be reviewed for their content and ability to inform CPE initiatives and activities. Participants are invited to submit abstracts for presentation in one of several areas:

1.   The meeting theme: Transforming physician assessment and remediation: Understanding factors that shape performance.

2.   Other topics regarding physician assessment, enhancement, or remediation (e.g., assessment of clinical reasoning skills in medical decision-making, assessment involving review of medical records/ chart audits, or the impact of remedial education on return to practice).

For those selected, there will be three possible venues for presenting their work.

  • A traditional individual presentation (usually 10-15 minutes)
  • A panel format with other colleagues
  • Presenting a workshop on your topic.

You will be asked to indicate the venue(s) you would prefer; the RIF Committee will take your preference into consideration and will suggest which venue(s) will likely work best for the overall program.

Please complete the information requested in the link provided below and submit by June 15, 2026. The RIF Subcommittee of the CPE Program Committee will notify you of your selection status by July 17, 2026, and will give you further instructions at that time.

Important - Read Carefully!

  • If your abstract is accepted, you must register for the conference no later than July 24,2026, to secure your place in the RIF.
  • The person submitting the abstract for the RIF needs to be the person who will be doing the presentation at the meeting. If for any reason, there is a desire to change presenters, you will need to receive permission from the CPE Program Committee (contact Rob Steele, MD at rsteelefp@gmail.com).
